Whilst you have your experience and story the core issue is equal rights in eyes of law and contradiction that existing policies and structures are equipped for the nuclear family and heteronormative society.
I guess to some extent Lawrence Wong indication Singapore can't maintain status quo economically due to geo politiclal winds, might mean a yeild toward adaptability needed in a conservative society.
Love to hear your point of view on these issues but I frustratingly understand you have a business to run and the harmony nature needed to discuss divisive topics.
My take away is where words are effectively silenced you speak by example so proud of you to hold the banner high in a non protesting way!
Thanks for the feedback! I understand what you are saying and agree that existing policies are lacking towards the LGBTQIA+ community. If you have been following my writings, this newsletter is not meant to pick apart and critique existing policies.
Instead, I share my own stories (which in themselves can be divisive) to help others who are still struggling with their identity and/or have been impacted by said policies.
That said, I don't shy away from activism and have campaigned for the opposition in the past two elections. As mentioned above, this newsletter is not meant to be an extension of my activism. I might start another newsletter for that!
