Stuck on what to say? Here’s my system for writing with confidence
If you have ever stared at a blank screen wondering what to say or how to say it, you are not alone. This is the system I built to turn scattered thoughts into clear content, week after week
There was a time not too long ago when I would sit in front of my screen for hours, watching the cursor blink like it was mocking me. I had ideas. Thoughts. Feelings. Opinions.
But every time I tried to shape them into something worth posting, I froze.
Should I sound smart? Or should I be vulnerable?
Should I offer a tip? A life lesson? A punchy rant?
Every option felt simultaneously too much and not enough.
The pressure to be everything, from insightful to authentic to strategic and consistent, was paralysing.
I would write a post in 40 minutes, read it back, then delete it. Not because it was bad. But because I didn’t trust it. I didn’t trust that I was saying the “right” thing. That it was clear enough. Useful enough. On-brand enough.
And that is when it hit me. Clarity is not some elusive gift only the best creators have. It’s not a mood. It’s not a vibe. It’s not talent.
It is a system.
So I built one.
I call it the Content Clarity Matrix. A decision tree-style cheat sheet made for creators, solopreneurs, and one-person businesses who want to get unstuck and publish with confidence.
It is how I have gone from second-guessing every sentence to showing up every week, on LinkedIn, in my newsletter, in client work, in product launches, with a message that lands.
The matrix is built around four core lenses:
TEACH: Turn your knowledge into action. This is for when you want to offer tangible value that helps people think or do better.
REFLECT: Show the human behind the insight. Let people see your thinking, your growth, your stumbles. This builds trust.
BUILD IN PUBLIC: Share the messy middle. Take your audience behind the scenes as you test, create, or experiment. People love a work in progress.
RELATE: Make it emotional, make it real. Speak to the lived experience. Show your scars. Help people feel seen.
Each lens is a tool, not a rule. And once you start viewing your ideas through these filters, everything shifts. The paralysis lifts. The content becomes clearer, more purposeful. You stop writing for the algorithm and start writing for your people.
I use this system every week. Not because I have to. But because I know it works.
Because most creators and founders do not struggle with ideas. They struggle with shaping them. Honing the signal. Drowning out the noise.
And without a system to guide you, the algorithm will gladly step in and do it for you, shaping your message based on likes, reach, and virality, not your values.
This is how we lose our voice.
But it does not have to be that way.
If you want to take back control and stop guessing, I have made the Content Clarity Matrix available as a free high-res PDF. And I have included a bonus fifth lens, one I usually reserve for clients inside my paid programs.
Because your message matters.
And clarity? It is not optional. It is your unfair advantage.
So if you are tired of the blinking cursor, you know where to find it.
Ready to go deeper?
The Content Clarity Matrix is just one part of the bigger system I teach inside The H.A.L.O. Masterclass, a 6-week live cohort program designed for creators, solopreneurs, and leaders who want to write with authenticity, own their story, and build a personal brand rooted in trust, not just visibility.
Instead of chasing viral content or relying on recycled templates, you will learn a human-first storytelling system that helps you communicate with clarity, vulnerability, and purpose. This is the same system I use with founders, executives, and creators working across tech, media, and social impact.
Each week, we focus on a different layer of the writing process from uncovering your core story pillars and writing with emotional depth, to systemising your content and publishing a story that earns trust. With a small group of 12 participants, you will get personalised feedback, real-time coaching, and a safe space to experiment, reflect, and grow. This is not about performance. It is about becoming the kind of leader who writes like they mean it and builds a brand that feels like home.
