Last week, I expected a conversation about career advancement at the Take ASK-TION: Maximize Your Career Sponsorship ROI event. Instead, a robust discourse unfolded on how sponsorship, often misunderstood and underutilised, can be the catalyst for transformative career growth.

Organised by Lean In Singapore in collaboration with The Elevate Group and sponsored by Deutsche Bank and Grain, the event was designed to equip attendees with actionable strategies for building meaningful sponsor relationships, framing compelling career asks, and confidently advocating for professional advancement.

At the heart of the event was a dynamic panel discussion featuring Sapna Chadha, VP of Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier at Google; Kai Chan, former Global CEO of Ocean Freight at ISS Global Forwarding; and Uma Thana, Founder & CEO of The Elevate Group and Lean In Network Singapore. Fiona Ip, Regional Treasurer, APAC at Deutsche Bank, moderated the conversation.
