Featured in RICE Media
I was interviewed by Rice Media for their “After the Vote” series.
In this deeply personal feature with RICE Media, I shared my hopes for a more inclusive and empathetic Singapore, one that recognises and protects its queer and neurodivergent communities.
I spoke about growing up queer in an environment that didn’t feel safe for softness, how that shaped my identity, and why I now use storytelling, advocacy, and community work to challenge stigma and shift culture. We explored everything from the need for gender-neutral bathrooms to housing inequality, queer-affirmative mental health care, and why inclusion must be rooted in empathy, not just policy.
As a gender-fluid parent to a neurodivergent daughter, I want to help build a Singapore where our children don’t have to unlearn shame. A future where authenticity is not punished, but protected.
This conversation was part of After the Vote, a national series spotlighting the values, dreams, and transformations Singaporeans want to see beyond GE2025.
