Come journal, move, and heal with me and Rice Media this Pride Month
Healing does not happen alone. I am co-leading a Pride Month storytelling circle with Rice Media and Trapeze on 21 June.
This Pride Month, I am co-leading something deeply personal, and I would love for you to be part of it.
“Healing in Community: A Journaling & Storytelling Circle” is a collaboration between Rice Media and Trapeze Rec. Club, a queer-owned holistic wellness space, I have been attending for the past year.
It is one of the few places in Singapore where I can show up fully as a gender-fluid, pansexual parent and feel safe because of the gender-neutral toilets, the intentional community, the respect and the care.
In a world that often forces us to shrink, Trapeze reminds me what it feels like to expand. So when they asked me to co-host this, the answer was a full-bodied yes.
Here is what we are inviting you into:
We will start the morning with movement, your choice of Muay Thai (still open!) or Yin Yoga (now sold out), to ground into your body. These classes will be led by Trapeze’s in-house instructors. For me, Muay Thai has always been more than fitness; it's where I reclaim power, presence, and play in my own body.
After that, my co-facilitator and Rice Media’s co-founder, Julian, and I will guide you through a journaling and storytelling circle themed around identity, belonging, and the spaces that help us feel most ourselves.
It is not a performance, so you will not be asked to share anything you’re not ready to. But if you do, know this: you will be witnessed with compassion, not critique.
We’ll close with stillness, a final journaling prompt, and the chance to write a letter to yourself—or someone in the room.
Because healing doesn’t have to happen alone.
And for many of us, it never should have.
As someone who grew up in Singapore, constantly negotiating visibility and safety, getting stared at in skirts, questioned in men’s toilets, and asked to explain who I am again and again, I have learned that belonging is not found, it is built.
Spaces like Trapeze, platforms like Rice, and moments like this.
If this resonates with you or someone you love, join us. Not to be “inspirational”, not to be productive, but to come home to yourself in community.
You don’t have to heal alone. You just have to show up.
I will be waiting in the circle.
